Pipeline Projects

This was an interesting project in that we installed 6.5 km of 6” insulated steel pipe in a very hilly terrain with a water crossing at the bottom of a steep valley and highway crossings. This project displayed our ability to deal with diverse terrains as well as environmentally sensitive areas.

Multiple stripping was required with a broom finish in order to preserve the quality of crop and native pasture land that was disturbed due to the scope of construction.

The project was done on time and on target in a safe manner without any recordable incidents.

At 100km in duration this tender was interesting in that it allowed us to test our project management systems at a larger scale. The efficiencies that we maintained, the absence of recordable incidents, lack of labour turnover during the project, utilization of the local aboriginal labour force, and the completion on time and on budget are things that we are proud of.

The scope of work was 3” & 4” Flexpipe and poly involving the use of our trencher during both warm weather and extreme frost conditions. Also interesting was the facility work that was required on multiple well sites.

Situated in northern Alberta, this 50 km pipeline construction job shows our abilities to deal with unstable northern terrain such as muskeg and unstable/unpredictable ground in an extreme cold weather environment.

Given the location, our employees were based out of a camp for the duration of the project. We had the opportunity to offer employment to many of the local aboriginal population, of which, we had a very solid working arrangement.

With the remote location, certain unique protocols were required to ensure the safety of our employees and those that worked both with us and around us. The project was done on time and on target in a safe manner without any recordable incidents.
